Mr. Edward Rossel, Sverdlovsk oblast governor, met with chief executives of ITERA oil and gas company Nov. 20 in Yekaterinburg, Mr. Igor Makarov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Vladimir Makeev, the Chairman of the Management Board. The parties to the meeting discussed the issues related to implementing the long-term cooperation Agreement between ITERA and Sverdlovsk oblast government, as well as the draft Master Gas Supply and Distribution Plan presented by Mr. Alexander Karasevich, OAO Promgaz General Director.
Igor Makarov stressed in the course of the meeting that ITERA successfully and ahead of time fulfills its obligations under all Agreement´s provisions. The company provides uninterrupted and growing gas supplies to Sverdlovsk oblast, implementing strategic projects in a number of sectors, with a view to continue generously contributing to integrated programs for gasification, energy-saving, higher reliability and safety of gas supply.
ITERA has plans to sell over 19 bcm3 of gas to the dynamically growing economy of the oblast in 2006. Next year, the company will increase gas supplies up to 19.5 bcm3. In the meantime, starting 1999 to present, ITERA has delivered 130.6 bcm3 of gas to the region´s customers, which by far exceeds the Agreement volume.
Under the existing program to upgrade gas facilities of the oblast, 16 gas boiler installations with 60 MW total capacity are scheduled to be built. In 2007–2008, ITERA and UGMK-Holding intend to commission the first phase of a 50-MW combined cycle generating plant to power A.K. Serov steel works. ITERA and OAO Uralkhimplast prepare to undertake a project to build a gas processing facility with annual capacity of 400 Kt of methanol. Next year, ITERA and Uralsevergaz will complete a wood-working facility in the town of Vyisk, to produce 65 Km3 of lumber board per year. Jointly with SU-155 investment and civil engineering group, ITERA will go into housing development business in Yekateringburg. Edward Rossel has invited the company to take an active part in housing construction in Sverdlovsk oblast rural districts.
Edward Rossel and Igor Makarov have summarized the meeting´s results by signing the minutes specifying the cooperation Agreement implementation details through 2008. The document emphasizes the importance of further expanded cooperation to be based on the principles of continuity, mutual benefit and stability. Sverdlovsk oblast governor noted that during more than seven years of business in the Central Urals area ITERA had established itself as a responsible and reliable partner.
The meeting was attended by: Alexei Vorobyov, Sverdlovsk oblast government chairman, Alexander Levin, the governor administration head, Vladimir Molchanov, the oblast government first deputy chairman, the minister of industry, energy and science, Vladimir Kuzyushin, ZAO Uralsevergaz general director.
