On April 20, Edward Rossel and Igor Makarov, Itera Oil & Gas Company LLC Board of Directors Chairman, signed a co-operation agreement between Sverdlovsk oblast government and Itera valid through 2015.
Sverdlovsk oblast has a record of successful cooperation with the company since 1999. Not only does Itera provides Central Urals with gas, but is actively involved in building gas pipelines, boiler houses, residential housing and social facilities, as well as charitable actions". The previous co-operation agreement signed by Edward Rossel and Igor Makarov back in 2003 has been implemented ahead of schedule. Over the time, Itera has delivered to the Central Utrals more than 134 bcm of natural gas, including 18.8 bcm supplied last year. The target for the current year is almost 20 bcm of gas. By 2015, the region will require nearly twice as much, 38 bcm, as its economy is developing rapidly: new industrial facilities, urban residential districts, office and shopping centers are under construction.
Last year, the company commissioned 15 boiler houses and 128 km of gas distribution lines in the Central Urals. The current year’s plans include 16 modular boilers and 183 km of inter-town gas pipelines. Of many other facilities being erected by Itera’s subdivision, specially important for Sverdlovsk oblast are the wood-processing plant and methanol facility in Nizhny Tagil. The wood-processing plant is presently going through the equipment installation phase, first product due by July 15. The company intends to build a million square meters of housing space in Yekaterinburg.
An outstanding event took place April 19 - the day before the meeting of Edward Rossel with Igor Makarov – Beregovoye gas condensate field in Yamalo-Nenets district was officially put into operation. As Itera is a co-owner of the field, it will annually receive additional five, and later – 12 to 13 bcm of gas, as soon as the field reaches the design operating capacity. The facilities in Beregovoye field have been completed practically within one year’s time to make a good present for Itera’s 15-th anniversary.
Assessing the role the signed agreement will have for Sverdlovsk oblast, Edward Rossel stressed it was one of the critical documents underlying further growth of the region.
—We have stupendous plans, which mean nothing without gas and electricity, - the governor stated. — The region’s population really has a unique type of relationships with Itera. The company is the most reliable partner of Sverdlovsk oblast government actively involved in implementing governor’s programs; it has greatly contributed to construction of “Uralochka” recreational sports facility and a war veteran hospital polyclinic. At the moment, Itera and its subsidiary named Uralsevergaz participate in construction of Yekaterinburg “Forum-Center” to be commissioned in 2009, just in time to accommodate the scheduled summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
—I hope the agreement will be implemented ahead of time, same as the previous one! - Edward Rossel stated following the agreement signing procedure.
