The net profit of ITERA Oil and Gas Company (OGC ITERA) went up 1.5 times according to the Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) in January-June period of 2008 to Rub. 2 241 million, the Company statement says. Within the accounting period the ITERA revenue increased by 37.8% to Rub. 20.685 billion, income before tax went up 1.5 times to Rub. 3.309 billion. The ITERA gross profit increased by 28.3% to Rub. 10.576 billion, while its profit on sales increased 1.6 times to Rub. 3.659 billion.
OGC ITERA is a part of the namesake ITERA International Group of Companies (ITERA IGC) and is involved in natural gas business. OGC ITERA is developing the proprietary natural gas production in Russia (in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District in Western Siberia). The Sverdlovsk Region is the principal region for ITERA gas supply in Russia. ITERA IGC was established in 1992. It has been selling natural gas since 1994.
