ITERA Oil and Gas Company shall be supplying up to 30 billion cubic meters of natural gas a year to the Sverdlovsk region by 2020. This is what Vladimir Makeev, General Director of the Company, stated at the local government sitting. “ITERA has been aggressively developing in the Middle Urals for the last ten years. It plans to increase further its investment presence in the region. The enterprise is going to supply at least 19 BCM of gas this year alone”, - Vladimir Makeev said.
At the same time, V. Makeev pointed out, that the payment discipline of gas consumers remained one of the grave and hard-to-solve problems. “The total debt of Sverdlovsk region’s consumers due to Uralsevergaz exceeded Rub. 1.5 billion. Out of that amount, the indebtedness of enterprises of housing and utilities infrastructure accounted for Rub. 862 million. The cause of our special concern is ever more frequent cases of breaking seals and unauthorized consumption of gas by debtors”, - he claimed.
The General Director of ITERA Oil and Gas Company stressed that the material indebtedness disturbed work and large investment projects in the region. The Company’s investment in energy related projects alone would account for about Rub 20 billion until 2015. Moreover, development of gas fields jointly with Gazprom is planned in the region.
V. Makeev ascertained the Company was not going to limit gas supply in the upcoming heating season. At the same time, he suggested that the Government of the Region should put in place a mechanism to ensure full payment by municipal consumers for natural gas and heat supplied. This mechanism might include guarantees by the Region to the supplier of energy and heat and the establishment of a sole Payment Processing Centre on the basis of SEGK, a regional energy sales company. Implementation of these measures would help normalize the payment situation and ensure control over remittance of funds.
ENEKO LLC (A limited liability Energy Company), an ITERA Oil and Gas affiliate, is responsible for coordination of ITERA energy related projects in the region.
ITERA was established in 1992. It has been selling natural gas since 1994. Uralsevergaz, its affiliate, has been fully satisfying the regional gas demand since 1999.
